Kelly Pook Celebrant
About me

About me

I live in Derby with my two daughters and husband (and am nearly there on convincing my husband to get our much-wanted dog). I’m the eldest of seven children so my childhood was full of fun, love, playfulness and carnage.  My family and friends mean the world to me.

One of my favourite passions is travel – and I am lucky to have met friends across South America, Thailand, Europe, Singapore and Australia where I lived for three years. When I had my children, I wanted to impart this passion and experience. So, by investing in a Japanese imported camper van, I hope to keep alive that sense of fun, exploration and wanderlust.

I have an extensive career working in events, marketing and digital, as well as experience in life coaching and mentoring and have spent most of my career working with people individually and in large teams.

And so, how did I get here?

All was well until I hit a turbulent year in 2019 full of concurrent family and friend bereavements, and then we headed straight into our collective Covid era. During this time I had a realisation that I wanted to shift my focus a little – my kids were super young (not fully in school) and I wanted to truly start ‘being in the moment’, and genuinely help and meet new people.

I spent the start of 2022 in a period of self-discovery with some health challenges and this was when I had my ‘eureka’ moment. I want to be a Celebrant.

I have a natural gift of leaning in and bringing people together – I am kind, fun, empathetic, authentic and a true ‘people person’. I’ve often been told I am a great storyteller, creator and memory maker, so becoming a Celebrant across all of life’s ‘special moments’ just felt like my calling.

I’m not super new to all of this. I have presented and conducted public speaking at many events and have delivered many family and friends eulogies and speeches at weddings. But I decided to invest in myself to become the best Derby-based Celebrant for you – trained by the most long-standing, respected Fellowship of Professional Celebrants. Be it weddings, funerals or naming ceremonies and everything in-between.

So hello, welcome. Have a look around my website to figure out what it all means, and I hope to speak soon.
